Windows 10 Tips: Disable the yellow warning sign from the network icon

Windows 10 network icon Windows 10 OS is packed with the feature through which it detects the available internet connection, this option was also present in the previous version of Windows 10. In this latest operating system when the Internet connection not available or doesn’t work, you will see a yellow warning icon over the network icon in the taskbar. In case you are using a proxy server or connection filtering then it may be very irritating to see this. Don’t worry, you can disable it with ease, apply the given steps to disable it.


Step 1: Open Registry Editor.

Step 2: Find the below given Registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Network Connections

Note: In case the above registry key doesn’t available then just create it.

Step 3: Go to the right pane and create a new DWORD value with the name NC_DoNotShowLocalOnlyIcon. Set it to 1.1w

Step 4: After it close the Registry Editor and restart the Explorer shell or you can also restart Windows.2w

You will see that the yellow overlay will disappear. You can also apply this trick in Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1.
